As I live on Canvey, I know some of the councillors on the island. I knew one in particular as I had met him before on several occasions. Ray Howard is a Canvey councillor and has been managing the flood defences and has been linked with the Environment Agency for years. I had his email address and emailed him to ask if he would mind being interviewed for our VT and he kindly accepted. James and myself then met him at the sea wall in which we filmed him for about 15 minutes. Below are the email conversations. If Ray was unavailable, I would have contacted another member of the council or the Environment Agency, if not both.
